Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past decade, chances are that you’re a complete Netflix addict—and there’s NO SHAME in that.
You might think all that TV would rot one’s mind, but there are actually quite a few life-changing films that you can catch on Netflix, too.
Some of these films are very sad, but it is good to know the reality. I am a very emotional person and I personally can’t watch these films because they are that horrific, but that should give you an incite into the meat, dairy, circus, and clothing industries. After watching these films people will at least understand, why people go vegan, and most of the time the people who watch these films go vegan.
1. Tyke Elephant Outlaw
Tyke the elephant was shot nearly 100 times before being killed. Her heartbreaking story will make you never want to go to a circus with animals again.
If I had to pick one movie from this list to show my friends and family, Vegucated would definitely be it. This flick is funny, lighthearted, and entertaining, and yet it covers all the reasons why going vegan is so important. It’s a win-win flick, and your peeps are guaranteed to love it. (Streaming.)
3. Vanishing of the Bees
Bees pollinate a third of our food, so we literally CAN’T live without them. Yet they’re dying at an unnatural rate, and we need more people to speak out for these little ones! (Streaming.)
4. Forks Over Knives
If you’re looking for something to show your folks, Forks Over Knives is a great pick. It reveals that veganism is the solution to most health problems—getting old doesn’t have to mean falling apart. EVERYONE should watch this! (Streaming.)
Blackfish goes behind the scenes of SeaWorld’s parks to expose how marine mammals are treated—and not just from an undercover perspective! Former employees speak out for the animals, too. (Streaming.) Personally: I do believe that seaward is a good place. They rescue thousands upon thousand of animals. But some of there show-animals are not treated that well. That is where the problem is. Even though sea world saves thousands of animals, they need to also take care of the ones they have for their shows.
6. The Beautiful Truth
It seems like everyone knows at least one person who has or has had cancer these days. The Beautiful Truthexplains the benefits of a vegan diet and how it aids in cancer prevention and treatment. (Available for DVD rental.)

It’s a known fact that if the entire world consumed as much food as Americans did, we’d need five planet Earths! I love this documentary because it makes you really question whether or not our modern diets benefit us and our lives on this Earth. (Streaming.)
8. Crazy Sexy Cancer
Whenever I need a push to make healthier choices and do something beneficial for others, this film by Kris Carr from Crazy Sexy Diet always reminds me that a change in one person can affect so much on a global scale. (Available for DVD rental.)

If you think ditching meat will be tough, this fun documentary shows how every family can easily “veganize” their homes. And can we all just stop for a second to appreciate what a hottie Rip Esselstyn is? (Streaming.)
10. Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead
In this movie, a man who struggles with his weight and declining health decides to do an all-vegetable juice fast. His journey to transform his health for the better is truly inspirational. (Streaming.)
11. The Ghosts in Our Machine
This movie is a fascinating look into the world of animal rights through the eyes of Jo-Anne McArthur, a talented photographer who has gone undercover many times for the sake of animals. (Streaming.)
“Climate change” and “global warming” are more than just familiar terms in 2015—they’re our reality. But all the facts are revealed in this moving film with an important message for humans everywhere.(Streaming.)

Ever wonder what goes into making a fast-food burger? Discover that and so much more as you’re drawn into the stories of many different people who work together to create that all-American phenomenon known as the fast-food meal. See the toll it takes on everyone involved—humans and other animals alike. (Available for DVD rental.)
14. The Ivory Game
The Ivory Game takes you on a journey with activists who risk it all to end the senseless slaughter of African elephants.
15. Live and Let Live
